I think captive bead rings are WAY more comfortable than circular barbells or regular studs. I highly recommend them to anyone with helix piercings! I got the 18g 5/16" for mine, and they are so comfortable.

I have 4 helix piercings (2 on each ear) and I bought 4 captives to wear in them. They are so comfortable, and look great! I highly recommend them to anyone with helix piercings.

I have every size from 18 to 10 gauge and I love them all. The bigger gauges get harder to separate, but they still go in well. You just have to learn how to use your hands to get everything in smoothly. They look cool and are very comfortable, not even too heavy in the bigger gauges. Just perfect.

How to Measure the Lengths & Diameters of Piercing Jewelry

Captive Bead Rings

Captive Bead Rings are measured from the largest inside diameter.

Captive Bead Rings are also known as C.B.R.'s, B.C.R.'s & Ball Captive Rings. They come in many variations, shapes, sizes, but the same measuring rule applies. Always measure the largest inside diameter of the circle.

We carry captives in gauges 18G-00G
Also available in 22G-00G in 14kt Gold.
All captives sizes 4G-00G are spring loaded for easy insertion and removal.

	Barbells
	Measure the length of a barbell between the two balls along the length of the bar, as shown in the diagram. We carry barbells in gauges 18G-00G Also available in 22G-00G in 14kt Gold.

	Circular Barbells / Horseshoe Barbells
	Circulars / Horseshoes barbells are commonly used as belly rings, nipple rings, eyebrow rings, earrings, ear plugs, and for genital piercings. Circulars / Horseshoes are measured from the largest inside diameter. We carry circulars in gauges 18G - 00G. Also available in 22G-00G in 14kt Gold.

	Curved Barbells
	Curved barbells, also know as bent barbells, are commonly used for belly button rings, nipple rings, and eyebrow jewelry. Curved barbells are measured in a straight line from the inner length between the two balls. We carry curved barbells is gauges 16G - 00G.

	Nose Rings
	Nose Twists, also known as nose screws, are measured from the base of the ball / charm to the beginning of the twist, as shown in the diagram. Measure nose bones to the end of the shaft, before the beaded tip. Nose fishtails are measured from the base of the ball / charm to the end of the barbell. Standard gauge for nose rings is 18 Gauge. We carry nose rings in 18G-22G in many designs

	Labrets
	Labrets /Lip Rings / Monroes are measured from the base of the ball to the top of the flat disc. Standard size for labrets is 5/16". We carry labrets in many different sizes and styles.

	Plug Body Jewelry
	An Ear plug length is measured from the inside edge of the horizontal line, as shown in the diagram. The same measurement applies of Earlets and Ear Tunnels body jewelry. Plugs are manufactured in many different materials, designs, and variations. We carry plugs, earlets, tunnels and eyelets in 14 Gauge - 00 Gauge.
